Typography decor has become extremely popular. If you have been to any home decor store recently, I am sure that you have come across many different designs. However, nothing adds more value to a home than a personalised piece. Creating your own sign is a great idea and is not as difficult as it might seem.
With Valentine’s day coming up, we wanted to show you how to make this love-inspired pallet sign. A great DIY project for your own home or as a present for someone you love.
What you need:
Pallet
Hammer
Nails
White paint
Paint brush
Black marker
A3 copy of your typography design
Start off by removing four planks from the pallet. Then attach another strip of wood to hold the planks together. Make sure to use two nails per plank on each side, in total you will need 16 nails. Do not forget to bend or remove the original nails from the pallet.
Once you have done this for both sides, you are ready to paint! You might want to sand the wood first, but this is optional. Simply paint the surface white and let it dry for a few hours until it is completely dry.
The next step is to think of a quote. We chose; 'You are my home'. Design your text on your computer and print it in A3 size. Turn it into a stencil by cutting out the letters.
Place your stencil on your painted pallet sign and trace the letters with a black marker. After that, you simply fill in the text. Voila, your pallet sign is ready! Enjoy finding a nice place for your sign at home or giving it to someone you love.Happy Valentine's Day!
